Whales watchers are whale killers also. They are covertly killing whales everyday. The boats burn fuel and are water cooled so how many million litres of preheated water are dumped into the oceans world wide every year from these boats that provide no real produce to living.
Just a rich mans whim satisfied????

Hi Michael,

To a greater or lesser extent humans, and indeed every species, have an impact on the environment around them.

There are lots of activities that have an effect on the environment, and for that reasons I find it hard to single out whale watchers in particular for criticism.

Mutual tolerance, if not respect, is what I hope for, and of course it'd be nice if everyone goes about their business in a way that will not cause irreversible changes to our environment and spoil it for future life on Earth.

In that respect, rather than whale watchers, I have a bigger issue with groups who waste fuel sending out vessels to harass whaling vessels, or encourage their supporters en mass to waste reams of paper, e.g. by sending childish letters of "protest" to a government on the other side of the world. This happens, and the self-righteous justifications for such behaviour is breathtaking.

These groups are entirely unproductive.
