Have a Happy New Year!

Hey there everyone, especially to my regular readers, but most of all those who comment from time to time:

Have a really Happy New Year, and a healthy 2007!

I'll see you all... mmm maybe a week or so from now (^_^)

What about some quick highlights? Two for me this year:
Number one highlight
Number two highlight

Two very different events, but both amazing occasions that I will never forget (well, surely not the first one, but hopefully there's even better news in 2007 with regards to the second).

How about you? Any good stories from 2006? Feel free to leave your mark in the comments section (^_^)

David,

Congratulations on your engagement and I wish you both all the best.

Together with an invatation of accomadation in Antigua should you decide to be here for the Cricket World Cup.

Perhaps you will understand my concerns of sustainability and Antigua and Barbudas lack of understanding this in practice. The words of politicians are one thing, Senator Massiah is eloquent, of that I have no doubt.

Did you see the news that Ric O'Barry has. I wonder if you will cover this in your blogg, as it would seem it is another illustation of the secretive style of a government that wants to push its cultural and traditional agenda. While poisoning it's population, gosh Minimata all over again. Why the secrets ?

Of course none of this has anything to do with Japan and the IWC and the proposal made in St.Kitts for Small Type Coastal Whaling and the threat made by Joji, saying he would remember those that supported this proposal.

Again after he had tabled the Secret Ballot agenda item, while also wanting small Cetaecans removed from the IWC agenda. Based on the concept that they should be managed by the range state. Or do we just want to keep the secrets from public veiw, while seriously damaging peoples health, the very people who pay their wages via taxation.

Success and good health in 2007

Hi Martin,

Thanks for your congratulations and best wishes.

With my engagement coming to fruition last October, a lot of things are changing and I have a busy 2007 lined up. Sad to say I won't be able to include cricket in the West Indies in my itinerary. I have been suggesting a honeymoon to the Caribbean to my finacee, but obviously these things are something that have to be decided together, so we'll see how things pan out as various dates are finalised.

I have seen a lot of criticism about the health of consuming cetacean products including dolphin meat, and I'll take a closer look at the Earth Island stuff when I have a little more time, until then I'll have to reserve my opinion.

The Japanese Ministry of Health also has a report on this issue here , which I have been meaning to translate (like a lot of stuff). I'll remember to make a mention of your raising this dolphin issue then, also.
